Sunblock & Sunscreen

Did you know that there are two main categories of sunscreen?

  • One uses physical UV filters that work by deflecting the rays.
  • The other uses chemical UV filters that absorb the sun’s rays.

Probably you didn´t even hear about the term sunblock before, well, you are not alone! Admittedly, there was a lot of stuff we didn’t know about sun protection before living in the tropics 😉

Fuka Eri sunblock is the physical kind, contains organic ingredients that sit on top of the skin acting as a barrier between your skin and damaging UV rays by reflecting or scattering UVB light.

These minerals are like an umbrella for your face. The sunblock starts protecting you as soon as you put it on and can take about 80 minutes to wash off you even if you are covered in water!

The second type are the chemical sunscreens, which absorb the sun’s rays rather than reflect them. It´s chemical ingredients penetrate the skin and absorbs the UVA rays before they are able to reach and damage your dermal layer.

The main downside of the chemical type is that they can be irritating to sensitive skin and are highly contaminant.

Mineral-based sunblocks with zinc like Fuka Eri, are the only real way to prevent skin damage and premature aging.

Now is your turn to choose! 😉
